This Network Serial Port Expander, with 4 extended input/output serial ports, communicates with any programmable central control system or PC to control multiple devices and perform protocol conversion between various devices with different communication modes. Built-in RS-232 and 100 M Ethernet interfaces make it compatible with AMX, Crestron, RTI and all other third-party control systems. Front-panel LED indicators give instant visibility into power, data activity and relay status.

In a typical AV control room, the Network Serial Port Expander acts as the central hub: a Laptop and DVD player connect via RS-232, while the expander drives the Projector via RS-232 and controls a Curtain motor through its relay output. A Dimming Controller for room lighting is driven via a second RS-232 port, and a touch-panel laptop sends commands over the LAN via a standard CAT cable — giving full automation control of the entire room from one device.
